Biography

Glenn Kramer grew up in Los Angeles, California. Even though he was already an accomplished pianist, he chose to enter the field of architecture by enrolling at the University of Arizona, and graduated with a Bachelors of Architecture degree in 1994. The years 1994–1999 brought Glenn work as both an architect and as a pianist, until finally in 2000 Glenn moved to San Diego, California, to pursue a career in graphic design.

Desktop publishing is a quickly changing world. Ten years ago, Adobe InDesign wasn’t even invented yet, and most page layout programs were created by the now defunct Pagemaker program. With the emergence of advanced page layout programs, and now ePub creation software, graphic design and typography have never seen such an exciting and unprecedented growth.

Although Glenn works full-time as the Creative Director for The Governance Institute, he still accepts freelance projects as a print, website, and ePub designer, while continuing to get hired to play piano for many events in San Diego through Gigmasters and several entertainment agencies. You can read an article about Glenn Kramer which was posted on Nancy M. Williams’s piano website in July 2011. Glenn is founder/organizer of two meetup groups: Amateur Pianists San Diego, and The Self-Publisher, and he is organizer of a third: Lattés & Literature.
